I'm Simon, the founder of VeriLocal. I started this project right here in Southwest France to make it easier for homeowners and genuine local professionals to find and trust one another.
Why I started VeriLocal
I've spent more than 25 years working in web development through Webhound Media, helping businesses establish and improve their online presence.
Living here in Southwest France (based in Tombebœuf, Lot-et-Garonne), I've seen firsthand how difficult it can sometimes be to find the right local business, particularly when you're unfamiliar with the area or don't speak fluent technical French.
At the same time, there are plenty of excellent local tradespeople and independent businesses across our region who deserve to be discovered without having to pay simply to appear ahead of their competitors.
That's why I created VeriLocal.
My aim is to build a useful, bilingual directory that helps customers find local businesses based on what actually matters: their services, location, experience and verified credentials.
A project I'm building personally
VeriLocal is independently run. I'm actively developing the platform, reaching out to local businesses personally, and working to make it genuinely useful for both customers and professionals across Southwest France.
It's still growing, and I'd rather be upfront about that than pretend otherwise.
